Useful eScrip Sign Up Tips and Directions
Signing Up
The eScrip sign up is fast and easy. We recommend that only one member of each household do it so you only have to keep track of one account
Step 1: Enter "Chinese American International School" for Group Name or "136556518" for Group ID.
If you enter the school name you will access a page with "Chinese American International School" presented as a link. Clicking on this link will send you to a page where CAIS is listed as your support selection. Press Next, unless you wish to split your support with another school that another child attends.
Step 2: Enter Name, Address, Email.
The email address is necessary for receiving welcome information that gives you your eScrip account ID number and password. Later (see below) you can uncheck a box to refuse eScrip promotional material.
Step 3: Enter your Grocery Card number (e.g. Safeway Club Card).
This is the actual number on your card, NOT the phone number you might be giving the cashiers so they can access your card account. If you don't remember your Safeway number, call Safeway at 1-877-723-3929, then press option 4 (to obtain Club Card number), enter your area code and phone number, and wait for a representative to answer. They have to verify your identity in person before they will divulge your number.
You should enter all the Grocery Cards used by the household, not just those used by the person signing up.
If you do not have a Grocery Card, you can press Next without entering one. However, keep in mind that most eScrip revenue is generated from grocery purchases, so if you shop even occasionally at Safeway or other participating groceries, you can maximize your contributions by obtaining a card and registering it with eScrip.
Step 4: Enter a major Credit or Debit Card number
You should enter all the major Credit/Debit Cards used by the household, not just those used by the person signing up.
If you do not have a major Credit/Debit Card, you can press Next without entering one.
Step 5: Enter a Drug or Retail Store card number
Available choices in their pull down menu are not relevant to us.
Press Next without entering anything. However, at this point, if you haven't entered any numbers from Step 3 to 5, you cannot complete your sign up. At least one card number has to be entered.
Step 6: Check and confirm your entered information
This is the last official step of the sign up. Once you press Confirm an eScrip account will be created with your entered information and two emails will be automatically sent to you: one with your username and supporter ID; the second with a computer generated password for your account.
Step "7": Create an account password
Although not an official sign up step, immediately after you complete Step 6, you will be sent to a page confirming that you have successfully registered for eScrip. On that page will be a link "Create your personal password". Clicking on this link will send you to a page where you can create a password for accessing your "my eScrip" account. The password you create here will supercede and inactivate the computer generated password that will be sent to you by email. We strongly recommend that you do this NOW so that you can remember you account password. Nonetheless, if you do not create your own password at this time, you can do it later by accessing your "my eScrip" account using the computer generated password emailed to you.
Once you have pressed the Enter button to register your personal password, you will be sent to the eScrip homepage where you will be welcomed by name. There you can enter your "my eScrip" account to block promotional emails (see below)
Avoiding eScrip promotional emails after Sign Up
A: Click on "my eScrip" link on eScrip homepage.
B: Enter password and press Go
C: Click on the "Update my email address" link
D: Uncheck the box for "Yes, please send email with eScrip program promotions"
Once you press Update you will be sent to a page summarizing your account information
E: Click on the Sign Off link
