Building Skills with a Bilingual Approach

CAIS’ “moveable computer lab” enables students in all grades to use laptop computers in the classroom. Students in grade three and up enjoy the availability of desktop models.

Students at CAIS build their computer skills under the tutelage of a bilingual technology specialist. Courses help students use the computer as an effective tool in their everyday lives. A variety of computer programs enhance student literacy, research, and math skills both in Mandarin Chinese and English.

Students learn through a combined lecture and hands-on approach, sharpening their technical skills through content-based projects. Tasks may include publishing a student newspaper in Mandarin or creating a flyer that combines text and images.
