Parents Help Make CAIS Great!

May 24, 2017

The partnerships and friendships that exist in our community are a key ingredient to the school’s success, and one of the ways that this manifests itself is the spirit of volunteerism that exists among our supportive and engaged parents. As a token of gratitude for all the work our parents do, we held our annual volunteer appreciation breakfast Wednesday morning. Thank you, parent volunteers, on behalf of the CAIS community for all you do.

Families gathered at the 888 Campus’s Iann-Stolz Playground and warded off the morning chill with coffee and even warmer conversation. A highlight of the event was the bestowal of the esteemed
Philip Butler Smith Volunteer Award (see list of past winners), presented this year to outgoing FSA Co-Chair Rosalia “Rose” Valencia-Tow. Rose’s hard work and dedication on behalf of the CAIS community is matched only by her genuine modesty. No amount of humility, however, can obscure the tremendous respect and admiration that our community feels toward Rose and the service ethic that she represents. Thank you Rose, on behalf of the CAIS community for all you do!”

Enjoy the clip below of Head of School Jeff Bissell’s remarks honoring Rose, who mightily eschews the spotlight while working so hard on behalf of the school and exemplifying the volunteer spirit that characterizes our community.
