Jonathan Rosen

Studio Art Specialist Fourth Grade–Eighth Grade

Location: 150 Oak Street and 888 Turk Street

Began at CAIS 2022

A San Francisco native, Mr. Rosen studied Film at Bard College before moving to New York City to pursue animation and music. For the past 7 years he has been living in Los Angeles, working as an artist, musician, and arts educator. In 2022 he completed his Masters in Teaching at Pepperdine University, and is thrilled to return to his favorite city in the world to join the CAIS community as a studio art teacher. In his free time he is a contributing cartoonist for the New Yorker, plays basketball, and enjoys camping with friends.

Ms. Taylor

Studio Art Specialist – Preschool-3rd

Location: 42/52 Waller Street and 150 Oak Street

BEGAN AT CAIS: 2020

Ms. Taylor is a San Francisco based artist and experienced elementary school teacher. Her two greatest passions are education and art. She gets to fuse them together to teach art to young students here at CAIS. Ms. Taylor’s main goal is to create a safe space for each and every student to grow as an artistic life-long learner. When she isn’t teaching, she enjoys water coloring, collaging and making mixed media sculptures. She also loves spending time with her son Forrest and her dog Claude.

Nia Womack-Freeman

Dance Teacher Fourth–Eighth Grade

Location: 888 Campus and 150 Oak

  • B.A. in Dance and Ethnic Studies, Mills College
  • M.Ed. in Social Justice and Leadership, Antioch University
  • Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, Dance Authorization from California State University

Began at CAIS: 2017

An educator and dance artist, Ms. Womack-Freeman has experience teaching in a variety of settings locally and at international schools in Malaysia and Shanghai. She holds a Master’s degree in Education, Social Justice and Leadership from Antioch University, a B.A. in Dance and Ethnic Studies from Mills College, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, Dance Authorization from California State University. Her classes are an energizing experience in creativity, and she is an integral part of our Arts integration learning community.
