Alumni Fireside Chat

Great company, great conversation at Alumni Fireside Chat

Alumni gathered in The Carroll Family Learning Center at the new 888 Campus to enjoy a “fireside chat” and receive sage career advice, tips, and insights from some particularly accomplished CAIS community members. CAIS parent Adam Messinger, CTO of Twitter, and Trustee Benjamin Ng, former CFO of Tommy Hilfiger, had the attendees in stitches and enraptured with their tales of navigating competitive business fields.

Alumni representing classes from 1987 through 2008 were in attendance. Megan Conley ’91 moderated the discussion which ran the gamut from the granular to the aspirational and both panelists fielded questions from the alumni, sharing candid and personal reflections on career and success. Adam Messinger let alumni know, ”There aren’t that many folks who have a foot in both worlds. You may underestimate your uniqueness – hard to find people who can move in both continents.” Ben Ng emphasized, “Your cultural sensitivity is your greatest asset.”

Attendee Emma Levine ’08 (now a senior at UC-Berkeley) shared, “I wanted to thank you so much for hosting a great alumni event. It was a great opportunity to network and wonderful to see where CAIS alumni are now and how CAIS has shaped our lives.”

Special thanks to Trustees Megan Conley ’91 and Julia Weil ’97 for spearheading the gathering.
