After graduating with a master’s degree in social work (MSW) in 2012 from California State University East Bay, Ms. McCobb served as a regional manager running a summer youth employment program and then as a counselor at a middle school in Richmond, CA. Prior to earning her MSW, Ms. McCobb worked as an elementary and high school teacher at several Bay Area schools. Ms. McCobb’s approach dovetails naturally with CAIS’s SEL and DEI focuses. She uses a strength-based and developmentally appropriate approach when working with youth, allowing students to build on their already acquired skill set and development while transitioning into young adulthood. She is a strong advocate for building a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and cohesiveness within the communities of the schools that she has worked in.
