The CAIS Class of 2025 is a juggernaut. At 48 students strong, the class is the largest eighth grade in CAIS history. Having amassed numerous team championships and academic awards, the class has distinguished itself yet again with an extremely successful high school admission season. A record 30 schools gave offers to our eighth graders, including private independent day and boarding schools, public schools, and magnet schools.
We have many “repeat customers” among the high schools that accepted our students. They know the strength of CAIS Graduates and openly tell us that they would like to have more Firedragons in their freshman classes. Reviewing the student recommendations written by their teachers this year, it became evident what high schools saw in our eighth grade this spring: the class displays curiosity, social consciousness (courage and kindness), perseverance, and the ability to work as a member of a team (inclusion and kindness), all of which were undoubtedly recognized by admission committees as they reviewed our kids’ files.
In addition to the CAIS teachers from 2014 to the present who provided outstanding instruction and guidance to our 2025 Firedragons, I want to give a shout-out to our High School Transition Counselor Sean Mosconi who guided the families of the Class of 2025 through the admission process, Ms. Li and Mr. Morris who spent countless hours completing hundreds of high school recommendations, and the many lower school parents who volunteered to assist with the eighth grade’s mock-interview training. It takes a village!
