Getting Ready for Our Forever Home

Lower School Head Kimberly Kaz Shares 3 Month Countdown to New Campus

The building is abuzz with end of the year excitement as students showcase their hard work in community Learning Celebrations and reflect on the many ways they have grown this year. On top of many traditional events that keep us busy in May and June, such as the 4th grade 3-day, 2-night overnight trip to Sierra Outdoor School or the preparations for the 5th grade Promotion Ceremony, this year we are also tackling the huge project of packing our entire school up to be moved across town! Some 2000+ boxes have arrived for Oak campus alone as we work to transfer the curricula, texts, supplies, artifacts, and memories that make up the world class educational experience that is CAIS!

During May’s In-Service Day, faculty and staff from across the entire school had the opportunity to visit the 19th Avenue campus — donning hard hats for the dual purpose of being both safe and chic! — to get a feel for the new classroom spaces and to walk the grounds of our new Forever Home. We look forward to continued progress over the summer as the building shapes up to welcome your children for the start of the 2024-2025 school year on September 3!
