Golden Gate Youth Philharmonic Now at CAIS

As part of CAIS’s commitment to enhance our performing arts offerings, support partnerships with high-caliber youth-serving organizations in the greater Bay Area, and find new and diverse ways to increase access to the Arts for our students, we are thrilled to announce a new opportunity, open to any CAIS student ages 5 and older. Beginning this month, CAIS is partnering with the Golden Gate Philharmonic: A San Francisco Youth Orchestra (GGP). GGP is a seasoned mainstay of the Bay Area afterschool orchestral music scene; since its founding in 1995, they have served over 2,000 students with their full-scale string instrumentation music education program, which includes orchestral training, sectionals, music theory education, and a performance-rich experience (concerts and recitals).

We are delighted that GGP will begin hosting their weekly rehearsals and upcoming performances right here in our very own CAIS Theater. They will meet on Mondays from approximately 4:30-6:30 p.m. Any interested experienced or budding CAIS string musicians are welcome and encouraged to audition to join this youth Philharmonic. Rehearsals begin September 29, so interested families should register as soon as possible. SPECIAL NOTE:GGP is holding rolling auditions. To audition, interested K-8th grade CAIS families are encouraged to register on the GGP website, ggph.org. GGP will contact you to schedule an audition.

We are excited to see our campus supporting additional music offerings both through this GGP partnership and our own Middle School Chamber Ensembles which are starting this year.
