Pause, Reflect, and Realign with Our Priorities

As we near the close of the 2024–2025 school year, I’m writing to share my final family update for this school year.

The mix of excitement and nervousness I felt preparing to return to work last October after maternity leave is still fresh in my memory. In what feels like the blink of an eye, my baby has turned one, and now, here we are, wrapping up a full and momentous year, our first at our “forever home,” with all divisions united on one campus.

Looking back, this year has felt both long and fleeting. So much has happened and changed; some moments have arrived as unexpected challenges, while others have come as quiet gifts. These experiences have continued to remind me to embrace life as it is: a delicate, beautiful balance between the unforeseen and the unfolding.

As the year ends, I’ve found myself reflecting not only on the milestones we’ve celebrated as a community but also on the quieter, more personal moments of growth that came alongside them. I’ve started to imagine what the next year might hold—both professionally and in my life beyond school.

One idea that has gently taken root in my heart is the intention to slow down. I want to live and work with greater purpose, to use my time and energy more consciously. In the constant motion of our days, it’s easy to lose sight of what centers us. Every problem can start to feel like a crisis, every ask can feel urgent. Before long, we’re stretched thin, trying to fix everything at once, and forgetting the importance of pausing.

During recent conversations with my team, a realization surfaced and stayed with me: not everything needs to be solved immediately. Sometimes the most powerful choice is to pause, reflect, and realign with the priorities that ground us. That clarity, I believe, is often what leads us forward. This is a lesson I hope to carry with me into the new school year—and into my life at home with two endlessly active boys who are my daily reminders of what truly matters.

I wish you and your family a joyful summer. May you find clarity in your priorities, space for balance, and deep presence in each moment that matters to you.

My team and I look forward to reconnecting with you for a purposeful, mindful, and inspiring 2025-2026 school year.

Health and happiness,
Wei Qian
