CAIS was thrilled to welcome Gene Luen Yang, a renowned American cartoonist, to our forever home on the 19th Ave campus!
CAIS was honored to welcome @geneluenyang Gene Luen Yang, an acclaimed American cartoonist, to our forever home on the 19th Ave campus last Friday! Not only did he share his powerful life experiences, showing our students how resilience and creativity can lead to success, but he also introduced the concept of coding in a fun and accessible way. He even invited our students to play games, creating a hands-on learning experience. After hearing his story, many students felt inspired to pursue their own dreams, motivated by Gene’s journey of combining art and technology. It was an unforgettable day filled with inspiration, creativity, and exploration!
“My name is 彭芝瑜, and my American name is Vivian Dahlstrom (Peng). I am excited to join Chinese American International School (CAIS) as a Lead Preschool Teacher. With a background in early childhood education and a passion for nurturing young minds, I am eager to contribute to this vibrant and diverse community. I believe in creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore their world. Outside the classroom, I am an avid traveler and nature enthusiast. Photography is another passion of mine, particularly capturing the beauty of nature. I am especially excited to join CAIS because of its commitment to bilingual education and cultural immersion. Together, we can inspire a love for learning and lay the foundation for lifelong success.”
On a hot day, our preschool teacher found the perfect way to help students cool down by bringing out the water play! Our students had a blast splashing around and staying refreshed while beating the heat.☀️🕶️💦
Cheers to last Friday's Teacher and Staff Appreciation Breakfast! The CAIS Family School Alliance treated us to a delicious breakfast and welcomed our teachers with a fun tunnel walk to lift our spirits! A big thank you to Denyse Clancy and Janice Ong, the co-chairs of this event, for organizing such an incredible appreciation breakfast!
The Trotter Family shares their heartfelt experience at CAIS. Part One✨
Sixth grade students are on top of everything as they embark on a memorable journey to Westminster Woods, where they foster character development, build a strong sense of community, and nurture science literacy through hands-on outdoor education!
Family School Alliance Outdoor Events + CAIS Earth Club are excited to join efforts in 2024. We had a great first event of the school year, with a street cleanup near the new campus! Stay tuned for more events throughout the year to help our planet and community.
